It's possible that none of the original Sprites that listers have looked at
were fitted with the Flying A pedal pads. According to Horler, "....both
pedals having a rubber tread with the Austin 'A' motif, although this was
changed at an early stage for treads of a vertical ribbed pattern without
the motif."
If Terry had been able to substantiate exactly when the change was made, he
would have noted the vehicle number in his book. However, if you have a very
early Sprite, like Daniel and I do, the Flying 'A' pedals are more likely
correct.
All this, of course, for originality nuts only.......all others can
(tolerantly) roll their eyes now. :)
