About one month ago, the Midget got a tune up. The timing was set, valves,
and the SUs were set and synchronized. Suddenly this morning, my idle
started to fluctuate, mostly higher than the 1000rpm to which it was set.
Before I investigate or reset the idle screws, are there any specific
problems that would come on suddenly to produce this effect? While driving,
everything was normal and uneventful, delivering the ususal top-down fun.
Incidentally, with the temperature guage reading in the normal range after
running for about ten minutes, I noticed that the temperature of the exhaust
gas out of the tailpipe was much hotter than normal. Any correlation? If
my mixture has changed, would it cause my idle speed to fluctuate?
