List,
It was ralley day. We got to rest, mostly. We helped set the ralley up so
could not compete in the event. Loaned our car to the Lownsdales (big
Healeys and racing Sprites) who have come out from TN. This ralley was more
of a tour than a ralley and took the folks into the back country. At one
location they were up at 6,000 feet looking across a valley with a lake and
on top of the next mountain is the Palomar Observatory. From there they
rapidly descended on the switchback road down to the lake. This is a Sprite
road, the big Healeys have to work very hard just to stay close. In the late
afternoon was the Pinewood Derby and Tech. Session. Bob got to give his
restoring sliding side curtains talk. The evening disappeared room hopping
from one party to another. Got to somehow get up early in the morning and go
play direct the Healeys to the right parking places at the Auto Museum.
