If you really hate wire wheels, trade with somebody who wants them.  There
will be plenty of takers.  I suggest that your pay the necessary and get
new splines etc.  If you don't want wires, look at the centre hub
'minilites' from Vicky B or Moss.  They look neat, don't have the wire
problems but retain your originality if you ever turn into a purist!
