The roll bar regardless of the design will not do you any good if you do not 
have the proper safety restraint belts in your car.  If you consider how 
ridged the Sprite body shell is, adding a roll bar of 4 or 6 points gives you 
additional stiffness.  You are much safer in a roll over then you would be in 
a frontal contact with another vehicle.
