I'm working on the floor of my Sprite and I have found some sort of sticky
"rubber" It won't sand off, or wire brush off... I ended up using chemical paint
remover and a putty knife... The reason I'm taking it off is because one of the
previous owners, painted over it, and their paint is peeling faster then you can
say "floor". I believe this stuff is some kind of sound & vibration insulation,
correct? What should I replace it with? anything? or should I just leave this
insulation off and "feel" the engine better!! I'll be re-painting the inside no
matter what.

I also discovered that the drivers side rear quarter of the car is not
ORIGINAL!!
bronze welds have been used to replace the rear quarter of the car! well it
looks
like they did a good job who ever did it, its not even noticeable from the
outside
at all and barley noticeable from the inside with the seats off. Very good
job....
I wonder if this will be a problem in the future.. I hope not...

More discoveries included broken leafs... the shortest ones on both driver and
passenger sides are in 2 pieces.... what are the consequences of this? sagging?

Thanks for all your help...

Toby
