AndyG,
Bad news about the hardtop. I'm afraid that it will not fit. The
'69 has the fix mounted, retractable frame for the convertible top.
The convertible top stores in the boot for the other years. A/H had
to lengthen the cockpit in order to accomondate the fix mounted frame
for the '68 and '69 models. I also think the the '69 has a raised
lip that runs around back edge of the cockpit. Therefore, the bottom
edge of the hardtop is probably different to accomondate this lip.
I bought a hardtop last year for my '66 and was told that it will
only fit the '65, '66, and '67 year models.
I don't know if this will help or is necessary but what I can do for
you is place my '66 hardtop on my '69 parts car and check the fit.
I'll bet the hardtop will be too short. Which means that the '69
hardtop may fit your '62 but be too long. However, there is still
the issue of the raised lip.
I'm guessing that location is preventing you from fitting before
purchase.
The List will let me know if I'm wrong.
Later,
Paul
