Engine degreaser did the trick. I used cheap foaming stuff I had purchased from Wal-Mart (the Wal-Mart brand @ +/- $0.97 per can) a while back. Sprayed it on, let soak an hour, then washed as normal. Am rewashing now to get the degreaser scent out of it. In re the gentleman who was unable to remove silicone from his coveralls, I have found that carb cleaner will loosen it enough to come out in regular washing.
