List,

A similar item was circulating about a new Austin-Healey a while back and I
think both are suspicious. Margot Healey was at the West Coast Meet and she
spoke about the work of Healey Automobile Consultants Limited (HACL) which as
I understood her presentation has all the rights to the Healey name as it
applies to automobiles. Margot is a director of HACL. HACL works to preserve
and protect the Healey name and was vigorously opposing its inappropriate use,
such as on "Austin-Healey" kit cars and other products that were using the
Healey name with out HACL approval. While this does not absolutely rule out
BMW building a car it is a little more involved than just a decision on their
part.
