I've got to agree with Richard. Most homeowner's policies (at least all
the ones I've seen) specifically exclude vehicles. Some even exclude the
contents of the garage (whatever they are).

As for insurance companies, I've been using Motorist's Mutual. I drive the
car all summer, and store/work on it all winter. I have a standard policy
on it, and drop back to fire & theft only in the winter. All Motorists
requires is a signed letter indicating my desire to drop liability over the
winter, and a phone call gets it re-started in the spring.

It may help that I've been dealing with the same agent for 10 years now,
and that we have all our coverage with them.

My $0.02
