The 79 uses a single ZS as a original carb. Probably the worst thing MG
ever did to the car. IMHO. I don;t remember if the Weber was a DCOE or a
DGV on Dave's new car, but the DGV conversion from the ZS is probably one
of the best things I ever did. The DCOE is no good on our cars unless the
motor and head have been reworked extensively. OTH I saw a 77 Midget at
MG98 that had a pair of SU's from a Spit installed. (the 1500 in the
midget never had an SU, but the triumph did). He said it was the best
thing he'd ever done. Cost him about 400 to do the whole thing including
rebuilding the carbs. He replace the DGV with the SU's. YMMV
