My favourite place is mounted vertically alongside the radiator -
you can use a short section of the heater tubing to direct air directly
onto the cooler.

Subject: Oil Cooler Placement
List,
Would members of the List mind suggesting where I should place a 13
row oil cooler from an MGB into my '66 Sprite? The Sprite has been
fitted with a 1275 and a crossflow radiator.
My friend Peter Samaroo has been helping me on weekends perform a
nearly comprehensive mechanical restoration - no tranny or block
work. There has been a lot of interest by the List in following
Phillip's restoration work. Would anyone care to hear about what
Peter and I have been doing and encountering? Some of it has not
been pretty. Thank God for Peter's and Al Fisher's parts cars!
I had no idea how many parts are/were missing from my car until I
spent a week at SpriteRush '98 and saw so many beautiful cars. I may
have had the sorriest looking car but at least I got to go. Allow me
to brag and mention that my bucket-of-bolts took first place in the
autotest event. I don't think Al will ever be the same after
surviving our trip to Gettysburg and back - something about a loose
(very loose) front end and temperatures exceeding 220 degrees. All
of this while I was trying to keep up with Frank and his green
rocket.
Thanks in advance for the advise on my oil cooler placement problem.
Paul
