Bicycle cable is what I used. It's been in there
for a couple of years now. As I remember, I
used a derailleur cable rather than a brake cable
'cause of the shape of the cast end. Just take
(bring ?) the old cable with you and make sure
the ends match and you get a long enuff cable.
I soldered the cut end to keep it from fraying,
too.
