Lest anyone think that I fall into the category of folks who only stare
at their computer monitors all weekend...
This last weekend I was in Ohio on business. On Saturday I rode up to
the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to watch a great day of racing. I rode
in Ched Clark's *beautifully* restored 1966 BJ8. Ched has owned the car
since 1968 and just completed the resto last November. He has shown it
three times and got first place at all three. What a great car! His
son followed us in a TR6. What fun!
Sunday I went down to Cincinnati and navigated for Chuck Law in his
Healeys in the Donald Healey Memorial Challenge Rally. I say HealeyS
because we pulled a fast one by stopping at Chuck's house and dropping
off the 100 that we started in and picking up his BJ7 for the rest of
the rally. Those Ohio back roads are great! (And Chuck's a good
driver, too!) By the way, the Healey Club won the trophy (over the
British Car Club), despite my numerous mistakes! Best score went to Don
and Hazel Klein in their purple Bugeye!
Just thought you'd like to know that amid all of the "threads" and
debate and discussion on this list, THERE'S STILL ROOM TO GET OUT ON THE
ROAD IN THOSE GREAT CARS!
Cheers!
