Hey gang --
Spring is slowly making its way to southwestern PA, so it's time to
take care of a few things on my car.
Can anyone tell me how hard it is to swap headrests on 70s midget
seats? I seem to recall someone commenting that it was really
tough without trashing the seat cover.
Here's one that may have mass appeal: I could also use some advice
on what aftermarket air filter set-ups are good. I know K&N filters are
great, but they are a bit pricy for me right now (anyone have spares
for sale?). I saw in Moss or VB a few other brands: Longflo (sort of
a wire mesh cover), and a 'generic' looking style with chrome covers.
Any opinions? How about a few testimonials on performance
improvements?
Another good topic: I need to buy new tires this spring to put on
my stock rostyles, but I may be buying minilite replicas later this year
(certainly within the lifespan of these new tires). The question is how
wide can I go on the rostyles so as to have a good width later on the
wider minilites? Any specific brands/sizes that anyone likes for street
use would be appreciated, too!
One last question: I have been very carefully washing my car with a
wet, but not sloppy, cloth and wiping with another damp cloth, then
drying -- taking care not to get any excess water anywhere. Is all of
this necessary? Or is it generally okay to just turn the hose on the car,
(other than over the passenger compartment)?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dustin Howarth
