Hello Spridgeteers!
In redoing the brakes, I found that the right rear shoes and inside of the
drum had oil on them, suggesting that the half shaft oil seal is leaking.
I've pulled the shaft and hub, pressed out the bearing, but now I can't
seem to get the seal out. I've managed to pull the spring out of the seal,
and tear the inner lip up a good bit, but the outer ring, or edge, of the
seal has not budged. Is there a trick to this?
BTW, for those that were wondering, I got the front hub off fine once I
realized (thanks Frank and Rick) that there was a bolt behind the dust cap!
I now have a nice, shiny new disc on that side.
Jeff
