Larry

CB= contact breaker (points) and it should be the + side on a Positive grd car
CB would be SW on a converted Neg grd converted car (confused yet)
Negative ground Sprite goes like this...- or SW (switch) goes to points. All
coils
went to + or - when the cars went to negative ground in 1968. If you have a coil
that says SW and CB it is from a positive ground car but can be used on a neg
grd
car if you swap the connections. (SW>points and CB>switch)
Positive ground Sprite + or CB goes to points -or SW goes to ignition switch.

Your question about a faulty ignition system could be the condenser, they tend
to
work for 5 mins, konk out and cool off and work again.
Also check the little rivets on the low tension terminal of the coil, I had a
loose one once that drove me crazy for several months. (on/off whenever it
wanted)
