Throw out bearing arm pivot pin

Fellow Listers;
   
  Some weeks ago, I consulted the list about my '78 Spitfire that would not go 
into gear while the motor was running.  I have since traced the problem to a 
missing throw out bearing arm pivot pin (holds the arm to the bell housing).  I 
pulled the trans last week and I have recently received a new pin from VB.
   
  My question: I also purchased a sleeve for this pin.  Must the new pin be 
installed with the sleeve?
