Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear that Crunch Time has finally come for Daffy's twin sister!
I remember you umming and ahhing about what to do about this a while
back...
My experience with selling Daffy's rusted remains is that I made more
selling the spare parts that the buyer chose not to take on eBay, than I
got for the complete car. If I'd dismantled the car myself and eBayed
the parts I'd have got even more, I'm sure. However, unless you've
moved home, I appreciate that space is an issue and this may not be
practical for you. Still, given the trouble you went to to get the
originality just right, selling a hard-to-find item like that gearknob
may be more appreciated by an eBay buyer desparate for just that part,
than someone buying the whole car as a parts donor.
All the best,
Richard (now driving Sammy the Black Tulip '73 MG BGT)
