Hi,

I finally got the car started! (Have been quity busy with work...) For those
interested: The fuel pump worked (checked that first). But there was no
spark, which I also checked directly from the coil. Since the coil had power
coming in, I assumed that was the faulty part, and bought a new one. Nada.
After a lot of back and forth I figured that maybe the problem was the arm
inside the distributor that is supposed to alternate on/off, adjusted it a
bit, and -- presto! What a sweet sound.

Big thank you to Doug, Joe and Daniel for their response to my cry for help.

It's summer time!! :-)

Cheers,
Thomas

Does your car have the little priming lever on the
fuel pump? Disconnect the fuel line from the carb
and push the lever, snd see if fuel squirts out of the
line.

If you are using starting fluid (ether) and it
does not fire, it is more likely due to an
ignition problem.
