The factory workshop manual is very detailed, but you will have to improvise
some special tools. Haynes etc. just tell you to replace the whole unit.
I might end up with an extra 1500 diff after my replacement is finished (in
unknown condition, but NOT the one pictured) but shipping from the west coast
probably isn't worth it.
Finally, I have a request. If anyone would be willing to scan and email
me the section of the workshop manual for the 1500 (collapsible spacer) diffs,
that would be very much appreciated. I currently only have the GT6/Vitesse
manual, which doesn't cover the collapsible spacer models.
