Hello list,
I have a question about fuel pressure and a larger
cam. The engine seems to die when I am at freeway
speeds, I also tried crusing in thrid gear at a high
RPM at lower speeds and I get the same results. If I
lower the RPM's while this is happening the engine
come back alive. It will also idle fine if I push the
clutch in while the engine has no power. I have the
Kent road cam installed. Does it make sense that
maybe I do not have enough fuel pressure at a higher
RPM and it is using more fuel than the fuel pump can
provide? Or does it make more sense that the carb is
not tuned properly? It is a singe weber side draft
carb and a standard fuel pump. The engine is a '69
1.3 Spitfire MKIII. Any help or advice is greatly
appreciated.
