Hmmm.... My '76 had a spoiler - it was lost in an unfortunate incident
with a raccoon at high speed (ok I was lucky I only lost the spoiler).
That said, I a) think the car looks better without it and b) don't see
any different in cooling or handling for the car. But as we all know,
each spit is a little different :).
My rad setup is the original '76 rad with the clutched mechanical fan;
the only time I have heating issues is if I slow down from high speeds
and have to sit in traffic on a hot summer day (my TR6 has exactly the
same issue, as I expect most of our cars do). As for cooling, keeping
the rad clean, and flushing it once a season seems to have the largest
impact.

So the spoiler will get more air into the radiator but ins't it's main
job to help keep the front end somewhat stable at speed (65+ MPH). My
'77 had one and no floaty feel at speed, my '75 had one, same thing. Now
as for my '72, it doesn't have one and the floaty feel is there. I don't
think it's my imagination.
