Dear Triumph Folks,

As the coordinator of the two major California British car meets, I get a
bunch of related info, especially about cars for sale. I usually know
nothing about the cars or the owners so I can't help evaluate the car or
price but feel that it is important to get the info out so the car can go
to an enthusiast, rather than a dealer/broker (as they say on Seinfeld,
"not that there's anything wrong with that.").

This one really intreagued me, partly because I just wrote a Buyer's Guide
for TR3s for Moss' British Motoring Magazine and partially because I'm
normally a BMC/MG kind of guy but these roadsters are fast and solid and
easy to find parts for. I don't have the time to rebuild this one, and the
seller has not included a price so I'm not sure how good a deal it is, BUT,
If this is the type of project that you have in mind - CHECK IT OUT!

Thanks and we'll see you Californians at either Palo Alto or LA this year.

Cheers,
Rick Feibusch

Mr. Feibusch,
I noticed in the Sacramento Bee the article about the upcoming British
automobile events.

Why I am sending you this e-mail is that I have a 1960 TR-3 that was my
dream to rebuild and to pass on to my daughter. However, over the years
this car has not been used and needs someone that has a high level of
interest to put it back on the road. I have far to many projects at this
point to invest the time and money for this activity.

I am the second owner of this car (black color) that has less than a 100k
miles on it. A number of years ago I rebuilt the engine to a TR-4 spec.
with new sleeves and pistons. After that rebuild it was driven very
little. It is black and has been stored for years and recently covered
with a tarp. I took the SU's off to rebuild and have them to be completed
and put back on the car. I am sure the matched tires are rotten and need
replacement. There is some body work required and new upholstery of course,
plus paint. In other words a great car to start with, but should have a
ground up rebuild at this point.

I would appreciate it if you would put the word out to anyone looking for a
new project and opportunity to rebuild this car and bring it back to it's
deserved glory. It was a car with great power and fun to drive around the
Bay Area years ago. There are many stories attached to that car. The
original owner lived up by Lake Shasta.
