I had the same problem with one of my rebuilt SU's this past spring. I did
centre the needle but the jet still would not return all the way once the
choke was released. On the advice of my local lbc mechanic, I removed the
jet and very lightly sanded it with 1000 grit sand paper. I would run the
sand paper around the circumference of the jet, clean, and re-insert to test
the movement of the jet. It took a couple of passes with the sand paper to
get the jet to smoothly move in and out without sticking.

Subject: carb question
Recently when i start up the Spitfire, the jet on the bottom of one of
the
Carbs sticks. It will stay down after i release the choke cable. Does
this
make any sense? Any quick fixes for this? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
