That sort of ghastly looking grinding is oem stock.  They all look that
way, straight from the manufacturer.

Large portions of the lobes have been ground away.  I am assuming this
was 
done as part of a lighten and balance.  Biggles ran smoothly enough
after some 
driveshaft fiddling, so I don't believe the crank to be  out of
balance.  Does 
anyone know what has been done here?  I am needing to make the decision
to 
replace this crank or not.  I need to know ASAP.
