Joe... I've seen a couple of U.S. Spits that had cable throttles
with twin 2's installed. My X-wife's housemate from eons back,
(before we got married) was driving a MKIII when my X bought
her '77 new in '77. She was mad that her '77 didn't have the
neat twin carbs' like Mary's (housemate) did. The only reason I remember
Mary's spit at all was the day my X brought hers home, Mary's died,
with a broken throttle cable. And of course, I was the one that
had to fix it. (hey what can I say... she was as cute as my X was back then)

AS a second point, the MG Midgets, used HS2's
(and of course the jets and bowls angles were different) but they too
used a cable for the throttle setup.
