Very entertaining pictures! You are lucky that the cylinder walls did not get
scored.
It would be wise to completely strip down and clean out the block, crank, etc.
The first time I happened to remove the cylinder head after getting my car, I
discovered that one piston had a couple of big valve-shaped dents in the top
surface. One dent was close enough to the edge to have deformed
the ring grooves and cracked one ring. Interestingly, it had
had no noticeable effect on the compression test results,
and the engine ran fine. Nevertheless, I replaced that
one piston, and the engine has continued to run fine during
the decade that has passed..
