I used a brass tumbler from my rifle/pistol reloading gear. Clean off the big
chunks with carb cleaner and a rag, and let then tumble for 24 hours in a
corn-cob media, and you get nice shiny parts.

The Rust Test! Ok I'm getting creative. Tonight I stole from my parents the
rock polisher. My goal to see which will clean/de-rust nuts, washers and
bolts the best. I have 3 nuts, bolts and washers sets in use. They are from
the rear suspension area one from the pass side and on from the driver. The
largest one is the bolt holds the rear shock retail $9.00 US. I'm trying to
avoid buying all these pieces when the ones I have are in good shape just
need the be cleaned. So let the experiments begin. I'm going to let it run
for 24 hours. So on Monday Aug 26th at 8pm EST. I'll check the progress. If
I'm not happy I will extend it for another 24.
Work Done.
Base line - both sets are cleaned with a degreaser, dried and wiped down.
Test #1
Items are loaded into rock polisher. I used glass grit, same stuff I blasted
the chassis with.
Test #2
I'm using POR Metal Ready, according to the manual this stuff should clean
and remove any rust in 24-48 hours.
