Dear All,

First, take one Spitfire, and leave it parked outside with only a
tonneau cover on.

Wait for a monsoon (ideally 2" or more of rain over a twelve hour
period).

Arrange for some moron to slash the tonneau cover to aid the flow of
water into the car.

Once your interior is three inches deep in water, or the following
morning (whichever is the later) remove the tonneau cover, raise the
soft-top, and use a sponge to massage the seats and carpets, removing
some of the water.

Whilst rain is still falling like the wrath of God, remove all eight
seat bolts, and carry the seats into your sitting room to dry,
accidentally smearing the freshly cleaned and pressed suit that is
hanging up in the hall ready for that important job interview with your
underseal-covered hands.

Unscrew the arm-rest cover, and remove.

Unscrew the arm-rest, and remove.

Unbolt the seat-belt catches and remove.

Lift out the main carpet piece and let it drip all over you.

Lift out remaining carpet pieces and let them drip all over you.

Hang carpet pieces on the washing line (don't worry that the rain is
still lashing down - they can't get any wetter).

Recover your tools, and take them back indoors for a thorough
drying/oiling.

Decide to convert to Militant Atheism, as the rain stops at the very
moment the last tool is carried indoors.
