At www.dougbraun.com/spitfire.html you can see my manually-operated
suspension storage system for my hardtop. One improvement I'd like to make
is to find one of those old-fashioned luggage racks that clamp onto the
rain gutters. (They don't seem to make them any more) Then I
could attach and remove the lifting tackle while the hardtop
is on the car. The way I have it now, I have to lift up each end
and attach the tackle to the hardtop's mounting holes. But the
advantage of the current arrangement is that nothing ever touches
the paint or windows seals of the hardtop.
