To reply to your question about what a GT6+ would look like now, you have to
take into account the total lack of originality in today's crop of
automobiles.

Most likely it would reflect the current trend of being too overly
wraparound inside, and shaped liked a shaved M&M on wheels outside, like
every other car on the roads today. The dash would be some horrid soft grey
plastic, with black trim and features, contoured like rolling hills. The
center of the dash would squirm back into a fully dividing console- it would
have a sound system capable of traumatizing the deaf, and GPS, so people can
find themselves when lost. The seats would be a leatherette bucket, but with
some dastardly deviations to fit the "Generation X" market demographics
desires. A/C would be "de regeur".

Exterior appointments would include the thin tire, large rim approach, with
the ugly chromes alloys, that the truly devoid of taste and style throw on
thinking they have class because of it. There would be no stainless trim,
and the taillights would have the clear lenses and tiny colored bulbs.

The engine would be some dandy little front wheel drive powerplant, with the
obligatory tin can exhaust, to charm the trixie set in Hondas and Acuras
away... You wouldn't be able to pop the bonnet and work on it yourself- they
would have every square inch jammed with something.

Basically, a cookie cutter reproduction of every other sports car on the
road- no class, no style, just a homogenized bunch of gimmicks and dohickeys
for those fooled into believing that only a shop certified technician should
look under the hood, and who are easily distracted by shiny things. They
would also come with a small tape recording of a strange "whirring" sound-
that of Michelotti spinning in his grave.(Is he dead yet?- if not the
concept would kill him!)

I'll just stick with the happy notion of what they do look like- I prefer
not to contemplate what today's lackluster designers would do to it.
