As I have time on my hands I decided to do a bit of tinkering with my car - my
usual timing and carb check (I installed some new spark plugs a few weeks back
and they needed it needed richening)
And the downpipe just needed tightening up (how you're meant to get to the
bolts at the back I do not know!) - about 1 whole turn on each - no wonder it
was raspy sounding! Nice and smooth now - the car now seems quicker than ever
- the engine seems alot "tighter" - much more willing to accelerate - less
"chug chug".
Also, of course, gave it a good thrashing down the new local test track, I
mean bypass road. I havent quite got to 100 yet - I chickened out about 95 -
and also there was a round-about fast approaching. This road is so perfect -
about 1.5 miles of new flat straight road - with roundabouts at either end.
You could go backwards and forwards all day. The roundabouts are the most fun
- flooring it about 1/2 way round etc etc
