Oil Drainback??

I have an oil cooler installed on my 76
Spit with the "sandwich" type adapter.
Does this adapter allow oil to drain back
even if I'm using an anti-drainback oil filter?
It takes about 2-3 seconds for the oil pressure
to build on engine startup. Thanks!
