Having a rocker cover chromed is going to run you somewhere between $60-$80US
-- about the same as an alloy cover will set you back. This estimate is for
good, triple plating. Someone incorrectly stated that a chrome rocker cover
will discolor with heat. Not so. I've been running a chrome cover for a few
thousand miles and it looks fantastic. The only difficulty is that chroming a
rocker cover poses some difficulities for the shop doing it and it's unlikely
that you'll get 100% coverage in every spot, particularly around the base of
the filler neck and beneath the breather tube.

Subject: Re: re-finishing rocker cover
I want to achieve a nice finish, although I'm not worried about
perfection. I had thought about the nice TSSC alloy rocker cover, but
can't justify the cost(#48), especially as I don't show off the engine to
admiring on-lookers too often ;-)
Any ideas how much it would cost to get a rocker cover chromed? This
sounds like a good option, although only if the cost is reasonable
(#10-15).
