This is a function of how quickly (properly) the synchros
are engaging the next gear. They are conical on the inside
diameter with three little fingers to line them up in the gear
and teeth that match the interior of the carrier that is moving it.
The conical surface will wear, and not 'wedge' fit tightly
enough to hold the gear until the teeth all line up and move into
position.
What weight/type oil are you using in the gear box. It's still hotly
debated..but the spec 90wt is too heavy. Put straight 30 wt in and
see if it doesn't clear it up... for awhile at least.
Probably sooner than later.... you'll need to replace that synchro.
Sometimes you can get away with simply lathing down the back side
of the synchro ring to allow it to move farther up onto the conical
taper and grab properly, saving the need for a totally new ring.
(Which by the way...most new ones avail these days are not much better
a fit than what's in your tranny now)
J.K.! ... care to elaborate? :-)

Subject: Second gear shifting!
Sometimes when I try to shift into 2nd gear a little crunch occurs. I heard
that spits have this problem. What gear or gears are bad or going bad? Can I
live with this or is it a sign of problems coming?
Thanks,
