Hi everyone,
you'll be happy to know, that something has finally quiet me down to
some degree, at least until Friday. No, it wasn't you, Gary, that e-mail
still has me laughing to a degree, where Wilf want's to see me
committed.
As you know, I'm in the midst of prepping and painting. During this
process, I've turned myself into a walking dust mop of various colours.
My friends dropped in on the weekend, saw me in a cloud of red dust, and
couldn't believe their eyes. I was told, that they have giving up on me,
they don't understand my devotion. I've been told, that they'll never
succeed to make a lady out of me.
I'm starting to get really good at this job. To Wilf's annoyance, I even
check his work to see, if the job is done properly. After all, a good
paint job is only as good as the prep beforehand. I'm working on the
bonnet. Doors and boot lid are done, they have already been painted. I
feel very confident, they look good. Now, I want to primer the bonnet.
Paint is mixed, Wilf's hiding in the other room to avoid the poison [ he
let's me deal with that]. I start on edges, all looks good. I continue
on to the fender, it's going well. All of a sudden, I don't get a good
paint flow, the primer goes on kind of lumpy. This doesn't look good. I
cry for help. He thinks, I'm doing something stupid, but the gun is
malfunctioning somehow for him too. We race to get the gravity fed gun,
transfer the primer, it sprays better, but, by this time, the primer
doesn't apply right. It's bumpy and looks terrible. Well, there is a
small set-back. The master painter has experienced a failure. The
adrenaline rush has come to a halt. If it wasn't for Gary's encouraging
words, I would have been crushed.
Now, it's back to sanding all this off again. I'm hoping to paint the
bonnet on the weekend, if I'm brave enough.
We think, the primer might have started to activate in mid-air for
whatever reason. It has not happened before, we're just guessing.
Back to sanding,
this time it's gray.......

Still spitting happily, but I don't know why.
