Hi James
What did you use to clean the K&Ns? I was told by a chap I trust that the
'special' K&N brand filter cleaner is actually white spirit (NB this is not
the same as turps). Seems to work well on my filters. I have always used
the K&N oil though in case it is special in some way (apart from the
colour). One day I will get one of our lab boys to conduct a mass
spectrometry on the K&N oil and compare the results to a large database we
have of other oils so I can see what is similar. (I have done this before
when I had my car serviced and they filled it with Mobil 1 synthetic. At
the time I thought they were trying to pull a fast one as it is very
expensive, but it turned out they had used it so I had to pay up).
Cheers
Pat
