DON'T TRY IT WITHOUT THE RIGHT TOOLS!
The spring free length is about 4"-5" longer than
the installed length. If you pop that cap off.. be prepared
to have it fly about 40-60 feet.
...and you'll never get it back on.

Subject: Front Shock (Damper) coil removal?
Hello Fellow Spitfans,
As I am new to Spitlist. I will tell you I have a 1976 Triumph Spitfire
1500
that I am restoring in Central Florida. My question is: I am preparing to
remove front shocks and do not have coil compression tool. Has any one
found a
subsitute or do you just brute force and pray that all fingers will be
accounted for after finisning?
Thanks,
Guy
