Wow, I was gone over the weekend and it was heartening to see all the
responses on my return. Thank you to all who responded.
Here is a followup: I do not have a heat shield - is having one a must? I
see from Dave Chu site that he made his own. What do the originals look
like? I can't find them in my Haynes or Vicky Brit catalogue.
Regarding the suggestion to go with HS4's - I intend on using the HS2's. I
don't use the top end of the tach much, so if there is actually is a
benefit, it does not appear that I would would be one of those who would
notice.
Do I understand that you can either go with new bushings and new shafts or
reem the throttle body with oversize shafts being used? Are the two carbs
reemed straight through? or separately? What kind of tool does the
"professional" use? Is this done on a drill press with a long bit? I guess
I am wondering if my local machine shop can do this for me.
