Hello Bob, I don't receive individual Emails, just a daily summarized
listing
and note your post was the last one of the day Friday. I don't know if you
have
received any response or not??
I have posted my experiences with dot 5 a couple of times in the past
and
find it to be far superior to all others!! My dot 5 has been in my Spitfire
for
nearly 10 years now and have not experienced any problems to date.
I did start out with all new master cylinders, lines, etc.!!
>From the problems you describe, with my limited experience in this area, I
would be inclined to believe that your cylinder is worn beyond rebuilding
and
a new unit is in order.?? There are places out there that drill out the
cylinders and install a sleeve to meet original specs!!
At any rate go first class, as I feel the brakes are most important
component
of any vehicle!! Without them you will end up without the car and perhaps
even
worse results!!
To my knowledge, you should never soak rubber type components in
gasoline as it will cause excessive deterioration of the material.
There may be other opinions??? Bill
