Okay. Well, I might just go ahead and get the maaco.
As I'm not really looking for show-quality and they
did say that they would do any leveling of ripples
that I missed (it's difficult to see low points in
shiney metal). And I still think they're padding the
cost a bit ('bout $700 worth since this is for their
$300 listed paint job).
I did manage to beat the 2500 estimate with my last
two phone calls to custom body shops....How does
$5,000 (with no body work. Just paint) and $7,500
(same) sound to you? (Remember this is a simple
acrylic enamel w/clear coat) Anyone want to start a
pool to see how rideculous the paint quotes get? I
still have a couple more places to call.
Hmm....A car that's worth $2,500-4,500 with a $7,500
paint job. Now that could be interesting.
