What would you think of someone who was smart enough to learn how to
rebuild a motor for a Spitfire, but can't read the label on an oil bottle?
You would believe that I put 5w20 oil in my newly, semi-rebuilt motor
without realizing the mistake?
I ran the motor through initial start up and about 150 miles of around town
driving with light weight oil.
Where do I sign up for the dunderhead of the year award?
But semi-seriously.... I never took the car over 55 mph and I don't think
I rev'ed it any higher than 4000 rpm and the oil pressure light never came on.
Does anyone have any idea what damage I may have done to the motor?
I've since changed the oil to (drum roll) 20w50. Is there anything else I
should do?
Thanks.
