Since the DoNut is not sufficiently large and flexible to stretch it over
the three ends of the
outer shaft, I can't see how it would be possible to
do so without pressing the outer shaft out of the vertical link. But then I
have never really
tried, not wanting to damage a very expensive part!

Since releasing the
vertical link from the leaf spring made it simple by vitrue of releasing the
tension, I'd expect
reversing that order would make installation simple enough. Maybe the
levering involved is extreme
with a new donut, but it wasn't hard to control with an old donut.
