Ignition switch

I am installing a new ignition switch, in my '73 Spitfire. The new switch
has 7 posts, no post at 12 oclock. The old switch had 8 posts, one at 12
oclock, plus one on the side of the switch.
Has anyone done this before?
Any advice?
