I had a 1970 when new and I think the inner two round "lights" were
actually reflectors - probably in response to a US DOT requirement for
more reflective surface (in square inches) than the flat part of the
fendertip lights could provide. As a result of the new role, the faces
of the inner round "lights" were flat while the previous year's were
conical as the amber turn signals next to them were.
Anybody confirm that? These memories are 30 years old!
