If you have access to a welding/heating torch and a bucket of "ice water"
and a hand towel soaked in the ice water, with medium flame, run the flame
around the ouside of the hail dent keeping the hand moving continuosly, the
dent will pop up, imediately place the icewater towel over the poped up dent
and it is removed, feather edge the dent area, prime and paint. "FT"
Fred,
I had a fender, from my Trooper, that my wife rolled over. I smacked it with
a ball peen hammer, then then tried your suggestion with a propane torch, I
use to loosen up brake drums.
I circled the dent and the paint burned off, but the dent remained.
When you say medium flame, what do you mean?
Should the metal turn red?
Do you circle the dent with red hot metal, or circle the dent so it turns
red hot also , but later.
