I replaced a drive resistor a few years ago. It is a very expensive and time
consuming process. To be done correctly, you must hire expensive negotiators to
arrange for proper removal. Of course, then while selecting a new drive
resistor, you find yourself being much more cautious and must try them out to
make sure they work properly. Some second-hand or used drive resistors can be
worse than the original. And finding a NOS drive resistor is virtually
impossible!
