  You will need a couple of transistors, 12V relay, and a 555 timer.
  The timer should be configured as a monostable or one shot timer.
  The first transistor will act as a trigger for the timer and the
  timer will engerized the relay via the second transitor.

  Ofcourse, you will need some resistors, diode, capacitors and a variable
  resistor to adjust the timing.  If you need help in designing the circuit
  just give me a shout.  I've done very similar circuits before.
