Turpentine, kerosene, acetone, xylene, toluline, naptha, stodard oil, etc.
All the same things that are in any of the various engine flushes and oil
additives on the market today.
However your question is a trick question. Any additive (including
the oem oil manufacturers additives) screw something up. Multi
weight chemistry screws up the molecular strength of the base
oil. Sulpher, which protects your engine when you lug it also
eats your bearings. Tanstaafl.

If you have a general solvent that you can put into
your engine oil without screwing up anything, I'd like
to know what it is.
